I connected to the server using "ftp://IPADDRESS:PORT" in MacOS Finder. The user and password is "anonymous" by default. Now I can wirelessly transfer all my data to my Desktop while on a private LAN without having to use cables, cloud storage, or slow/buggy software. This cross-platform, native solution runs fast and does exactly what I needed it to 😃. Once I'm done, I shut it off, it's pretty simple. My phone is battery operated, so it makes sense to not run a file server on it 24/7.

Managed to copy every folder from my phone (including sdcard) to my pc. I cant copy entire directories and transfers are slow from the sdcard. Great app, allows you to create users with different security profiles. I use this on all devices in the house. Also, SSID detection does not work. It switches on regardless of the SSID you connect to, even though the SSID is specified in the app.

A great FTP server! The adds are not bothersome, still I did pay for the add free version, but will keep on using this free version for my old tablet, as Google Play seems to think my tablet is not compatible with the paid version for some reason (I guess it's due to the fact that my LG G pad 8.3 started out as Android 4.1 even though it has been updated to Android 5). Tried out the SFTP on the SSH app as well, which was also great, but I guess I'll mostly use this app as I'm getting 5 times the speed on plain FTP transfers when comparing to SFTP. Regardless, I love being able to transfer files to and from my PC and from Total Commander for Android using these server apps by Banana Studio. Nicely done, and I appreciate it being free. One small issue I have is when trying to overwrite files hosted on my Android Phone, no error message, but files doesn't get properly overwritten. It seems like it'll rather get merged with the existing file, at least when the file to overwrite with is smaller then the original file. (f.ex when resizing a jpg, or compressing it to be smaller by other means, overwriting the larger file with that will not make the file on the server smaller, but when copying it back to the PC to check it, the resolution is changed, but as the filesize is the same so there seems to be that a lot of remaining date from the overwritten file mixed in). A minor annoyance, but it's fairly easy to get around it by deleting files that needs overwriting before transfer. Would be cool if this got fixed though. I sent you a support message about it. This behavior is the same in the SSH app, and in the pro version of the FTP server. Edit: One more issue is with scandinavian characters, like ø, æ, å, ö, ä (and I suspect more international characters) those will get messed up during transfer.
