Description
Injuries occur in most sports, and unfortunately too often. A sports injury can be devastating for an athlete, and at worst mean the end of a promising career. However, sports injuries can be prevented. A number of scientific studies have shown that using structured warm-up program can decrease the risk of injuries by over 50%!
App injury-was developed in conjunction with the launch of the website www.skadefri.no. Injury-app originates in app Get Set - Train Smarter developed in connection with the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China (2014) and Lillehammer, Norway (2016) through a collaboration between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Centre for sports Trauma research Center, our technology partner Making Waves AS, and several international sports federations.
The target audience is not just the young talented athlete and their coaches, but all who are engaged in physical activity. Injury-was designed to contribute to the prevention of sports injuries by providing you with the most effective, research-based training routines.
All exercises are presented through videos, supported by brief descriptions of how to perform the exercise correctly. Exercises presented with variations, as well as with three progressively more challenging levels to make them more challenging. The exercises are designed to be done with a minimum of equipment and to make them safe and easy to carry wherever you go.
Under the entrance "Sport", you can select your sport among 30 summer and 15 winter sports, but there are also preventive exercises aimed at 6 selected body parts. In other words, for each of the 45 sports, you can choose training adapted to the risk profile of your sport. The exercises are designed to prevent shoulder, back, lyske-, hamstrings-, knee and ankle injuries.
All training programs can be downloaded as PDF files, where you see small images and brief descriptions of each of the exercises. PDF can be shared online with your teammates, coaches, friends and family.
