So expensive yet the app is HORRIBLE. Connection issues, downtime, and IPs that are in China instead of the listed location. VPN silently fails and needs manual disconnect+reconnect and you don't know it until you realize you haven't gotten messages in a long time. Consistent wireguard only works with a third-party app and manual setup. Tried on multiple devices in China and the US.

The most reliable VPN in China in my experience is Astrill, and it can support 5 users on their phones and PCs simultaneously - so 10 concurrent access points. No VPN is perfect in China, as they change their blocking methods constantly, but with a few exceptions, like during the 5-year CPC meetings, Astrill has proven to be reliable and fast. For the record, expressVPN is NOT the best VPN in China. It is down much more often than competing VPNs and when it is up it is slow.

All apps which use internet will use internet over Astrill as long as VPN is connected, so it's normal to see higher usage by Astrill. Unfortunately it's not possible to be connected to VPN and Internet all the time and have low battery usage. The best you can do is to disable WiFi when you don't use phone. Please also try OpenWeb vs StealthVPN.

Inconsistent connection. Especially from China , most servers won't connect. Been a user for over 6 years, used to be the best but now it's on par with free software. Most recent update chews through 30%-40% of my mobile battery in a morning, regardless of settings and android battery optimization. There are better options (but not ExpressVPN, that's the absolute worst!)
