About this app

AR Tours is a free augmented reality (AR) app that makes it easy for everyone anywhere to play with augmented reality. Players can experience the magic of augmented reality using image triggers found on Flo-culture’s web site - Flo-culture.com

Player can also visit the location of AR Tours made by great visitor attractions, museums and heritage settings to find and unlock AR experiences.

- Playing with AR

The ‘Enable AR’ tab in the app uses unique image triggers to activate an AR experience. Go to Experience AR on Flo-culture’s website to access the image triggers. Have fun! Let us know how you get on, or better yet, share the photos you take of your AR experience.

- AR Tour apps

The AR Tours app presents a collection of location-specific AR tours created by our museum and heritage organisation partners. Visitors must visit the location of the AR Tour to play.

- What is an AR Tour?

An AR Tour is a site-specific adventure that combines the fun of a quest or treasure hunt with the magic of augmented reality (AR) to attract, entertain and reward visitors.

To participate in these location-based interactive AR adventures, visitors must visit the location of an AR Tour and use their smartphone to play. AR experiences are accessed through the visitor's smartphone camera.

Players take on challenges set by curators, which involves searching for and collecting rewards. This helps give the visit a clear sense of direction, purpose and sense of achievement. They follow clues to find hidden artefacts that are used to unlock AR rewards attached to exhibits or points of interest.

Players are encouraged to take and share photos of dramatic scenes they have created with AR rewards.

All found artefacts and unlocked rewards are safely stored in the player's collection. Once collected, players can play with their AR rewards anywhere.

Themed tours or treasure trails are created by curating collections of individual exhibits or points of interest.
