About this app

IMPORTANT

GCDroid is VERY limited for Groundspeak (geocaching.com) basic users!
Unless you pay for THEIR premium membership, GCDroid is unable to provide much use. This is limited by Groundspeak, NOT GCDroid!

GCDroid is your 'one stop shop' mobile geocaching application. Versatile and user friendly, it is designed for both online and offline geocaching in mind. GCDroid integrates seamlessly with GSAK and Dropbox but also offers direct access to caches via the Live API.

A geocaching app for geocachers from a geocacher...

All GCdroid subscriptions come with a one-time free trial with all features based on your geocaching.com account type enabled

Just a couple highlights

• direct access to Dropbox to download GSAK databases or GPX files
• Merge multiple databases into one

• Hide Search Mode (show all caches, including disabled, owned, found)

This is my favorite geocaching app. I tried a couple of other ones a couple of years when it looked like GCDroid might not keep working. None of them were as easy to use or had as intuitive an interface as GCDroid.

I really dislike rating apps with a 1-5 scale. I would prefer having enough space to really explain how I use it. I thought GCDroid had disappeared forever and I then tried every other geocaching app for Android. I was more than happy to come back to the new version even if it means paying for a subscription. In my view it is money well spent for a well designed and easy to use app for which I just recently received great support. Developers have to somehow make money to survive + maintain app.

Used to a great app before the new overhaul update, now I can no longer use my offline database like I used to as its locked behind a paywall (how good are overhaul updates)? And it's not just a pay once and your done that I would be happy to pay, they are taking the adobe approach and making it a subscription that you need to pay monthly. So now there is really no point in using this app as it basically works the same as the original geocaching app. So 2 stars because it works.
