The author of this book is Shams al-Din al-Dhahabi, a muhaddith and imam Hafez. It combines two advantages that have been combined only by the very few in our history. Imam Al-Dhahabi is one of the scholars who entered the field of history through the Prophet’s hadith and its sciences, and this appeared in his great care of translations, which became the basis of many of his books and the focus of his historical thinking.
One of his most important works was the book Biography of the Nobles

The Kital Al-Alam Al-Nubala is a general biographical book that the author summarized from his great book “The History of Islam and the Deaths of Celebrities and Flags” known as the History of Islam.
The book is arranged according to the translations according to the deaths, starting from the Companions to the end of the seventh century AH, and singled out the first and second parts of the Prophet’s biography and the lives of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and did not include them in his book “Sir of the Nobles’ Flags,” but referred them to his book “History of Islam.” The copyist Ibn Tofan came and did not reproduce them. The first and second volumes, and the first part of “Sir Al-Alam Al-Nubala” began with the translation of the ten who were given the glad tidings of Paradise.

The author organized his book on layers, making it into approximately forty layers, according to the style of Islamic translation books, and that each layer means an entire generation.
