Tausiah comes from Arabic which means advice.
Tausiyah means a religious lecture containing messages regarding truth and patience, referring to the QS. Al-‘Ashr:3. "Watawa shoubil haqi watawa shoubish shabr" which means "And they promised each other in truth and patience".
Tausiyah can also be interpreted as a last will or message conveyed by a person who is about to die, and can also contain the delivery or distribution of inheritance.
Meanwhile, a fatwa is the result of ijtihad or a joint decision by ulama (mufti) regarding legal events submitted to them.
Basically, Fatwa is determined based on information from the Koran, hadith, ijma', and qiyas.
