About this app

This app provides left handed (lefty) mode to Wear OS. It means inverting your Wear OS watch UI (screen orientation).

<>
In general, apps can reach your personal data by using AccessibilityService API.
This app uses AccessibilityService API only to invert the screen orientation and doesn't collect/use any of your Personal Info.

- PURPOSE
Some Wear OS watch have side buttons. And some of left handed (lefty) people like wearing watches on right wrist. When this, these buttons are facing toward your body instead of toward your actual wrist. And it's not comfortable.
Even for right handed people, to avoid activating buttons accidentally, some people like to wear it by turning Wear OS watch upside down.

- HOW TO USE
1. Download and launch this app on your wearable device.
2. Give permissions of "Display over other apps" and "Modify system settings".
3. Enable Lefty app service on "Accessibility".

- NOTICE
1) This app doesn't reverse wrist gestures and crown rotation.
2) Sometimes the screen will be Always On.

Thank you, the lefty app has been fixed and now works on the new galaxy 4 watch. However, as warned, after testing, I found that the screen did not turn off. By not turn off, I am not talking about ambient, I mean fully on. SO, I uninstalled and low and behold the lefty configuration is still in place without the app, and the screen now turns off. When I uninstalled it, I did it from the gear wearable app on my phone while the lefty app was still enabled. I have already power cycled my watch once and the display is still inverted for right hand wear. Fyi, pulse, oximeter, and ecg functions all work on the right hand. I will give an update in a few weeks, if this thing continues to work, I encourage everyone to use the phone at and buy the developer coffee.

Thank you for downloading the Lefty app and giving me a feedback. The newest version is optimized for Galaxy Watch 4. I would really appreciate it if you would try it again. Honestly there are bugs. (when the screen goes ambient mode while tiles is shown, the screen go back to original orientation) But I assume that it is more helpful than nothing.

I was really hopeful for this to work. It does what it says but the cost is a lower "frame rate" where scrolling through the watch's interface was no longer smooth and the battery drain was significant. Either of those two issues would keep me from using it. Hopefully they will get it working better or the function gets incorporated into the OS.

author is right in description. only issue i've found is that within setting s "optional settings" when enabling WearOS 3 and Always On GW4 display always stays on. When disabling Always On GW4 goes off in preset timeout, but doesn't always come back on when wrist is rotated to check time. If I tap the watch face though the display comes back on. App needs a little bit more work, but other than that works pretty well.
