The "craft.ROADSHOW" is a project of the District Craftsmen's Association of Karlsruhe Region and the City of Karlsruhe Economic Development under the patronage of Dr. Susanne Eisenmann, Minister of Education for the State of Baden-Württemberg.
The craft.ROADSHOW app is used by the schoolchildren to obtain information on almost 130 different trades. In addition, the pupils looking for an internship in a skilled trade can easily contact us via the app. The aim is the quick placement of the students in a suitable craft business.
The craft in Karlsruhe provides numerous, valuable jobs and training positions. The skilled trades thus make a significant contribution to strengthening Karlsruhe as a business location. As traditionally reliable and competent partners, the trade and its interest groups ensure public services and quality of life. The orientation of entrepreneurial activity in the craft sector towards values such as the quality of work and training, sustainability or social responsibility is an important factor in economic and social stability in our city. The issue of recruiting young people in particular poses an increasing challenge for local tradesmen to be able to provide the usual quality of work in their own interests as well as in the interests of the citizens.
The business development of the city of Karlsruhe has therefore made it its task - in close cooperation with the district handicrafts association of the Karlsruhe region - to actively promote local handicrafts through a new and contemporary measure to attract young people at schools in the city of Karlsruhe.
