Charterhouse Buxheim
In its more than 600-year history, the Buxheim Charterhouse was not only one of the most important monasteries of the Order of the Silent Monks. Rather, it produced outstanding sacred buildings and art monuments, especially in the Baroque period. These include the famous choir stalls by Ignaz Waibl and the rich church and monastery furnishings by the Zimmermann brothers and other South German masters.
