The SolingenApp – your city always with you!
What can be done without an app these days? The city of Solingen is following the trend and making the SolingenApp available to all citizens. Easy to use, it offers users clear advantages: book administration services, make appointments online, know what's going on in Solingen - and all of this with just a few clicks, whether on the go or at home. The Solingen city administration stays in touch with its citizens using the app and is thus establishing itself as a modern and citizen-friendly smart city. But the focus is not just on offers from the administration and so the SolingenApp is an app for the city society and many other actors are connected: The Solingen technical companies, Freifunk, Solingen-Live, CoWorkIT, Solingen-liefert and others!
The SolingenApp is based on the Open SmartCity App and is developed jointly with other cities and districts. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction and KfW Bank, resources are pooled and further development steps are taken together.
About the new features:
Weather display
When you first look at the app, you can expect an exact weather display for your current or selected location. From now on, thanks to our weather stations, you no longer have to rely on approximate forecasts from the web, but can instead find out about the actual and precise weather situation in Solingen.
Points of Interest
The yellow buttons show you where things are in your area: public WiFi, construction sites, sights, but also e-charging stations, motorhome parking spaces and many other interesting places can be displayed on a map.
Digital citizens' office
Set up your own individual reminder with the waste calendar. Have you discovered any damage or impurity? Inform us about the defect reporter. If you have any information or questions about the app, you can simply use our contact form.

Would you like to book a coworking space or find out about current events in Solingen? Do you need reliable timetable information? Or are you looking for a new job? You can do all of this right here!
By activating push notifications, we can also provide you with important information at short notice and notify you of current news from the city of blades.
