Our listeners can tune in 24 hours a day for news and information from NPR, PRI, the BBC and our own newsroom. This new version of our app focuses on two things--a high-quality stream and the program schedule. We've thrown a couple other things in there too, but this is what our listeners have asked for most. We're providing an all digital, efficient stream using the AAC+ codec. It sounds great on all platforms, devices, radios and even over cellular. Tap in some headphones or plug your phone and have a listen.

If you're also a fan of KUTX -- The Austin Music Experience or our spin on Latin rock, Alt Latino, please download the individual versions of those apps as well. Similar features, and the same great audio. We've separated the apps so we can bring better and different features to each in the future.

And if you're still using the legacy KUT app, the white one with blues and yellows, please switch to this version and delete the old one. We'll be turning it off this summer along with the low-bitrate streams it only supports, going back to the days when the cellular networks could barely handle 24 kbps streams.

I loved it for years. It is a great way to listen. It's especially great when im away from Austin. I have had trouble with the Alarm/Sleep function. I wish they could fix that, but I also discovered that some of the issues were caused by not having permissions set right. Maybe provide more info on that...

this app stops playing randomly. i cannot control play/pause with my blue tooth headphone. also the station will not stop playing unless you pause or stop it in the app. i unplug/disconnect my headphones it begins to blast out of the speaker on my phone. it will also play over anything else i attempt to listen to. for instance if i am listen to music on google play music and i watch a short video on fb, the music will stop. this does not happen with this app.

I love KUT so much I want to listen to it while I walk, but, ouch, this app is really bad. Constantly freezes and hangs. I am only giving it two stars because of the 10+ times I have used it, it worked fairly well once. Update 1.21.20 App worked great for about a year, but only when connected to WiFi. Now, when I launch the player, the app closes and quits about 7 times before it plays. Hoping this gets fixed soon.
