About this app

The MEMO + application, available on Play store and Apple Store, is a service that allows the user to memorize new knowledge over the long term

The user can thus create:
• "Flashcard" games based on the principle of a question on the front of the card and the answer on the back of the same card.
• Only text and numbers can be inserted on the cards
• An unlimited amount of games can be created
• In each game an unlimited amount of cards can be created
• Categories can be created by the user to allow him to classify the games according to a certain logic

To play the game:
1. Click on the game
2. The latter proposes a question randomly, from the game
3. The user must give the answer aloud
4. He clicks on the “answer” button.
5. He checks the correctness of his answer by reading the answer.
6. Finally, the user will self-assess his answer by moving a cursor according to the ease he had in finding the answer: from easy to difficult.

The more easily the user answered, the less the card will be presented to him in the next games, and conversely, the more difficulty he had in answering, the more quickly the card will come back in the next games.

The user can play in 3 different modes:
1. Play a single game
2. Play all the games of the same category
3. Play all games from all categories

The user can adjust 3 levels of difficulty:
1. Normal = the game displays the question and the user gives the answer. After 3 correct answers in a row, the latter can remove the card from the game by clicking on the "no longer show" button.
2. Advanced = the game randomly displays the question or answer and the user must find either one or the other
3. Expert = Cards previously discarded from the game are all reinstated to perform over-learning and promote long-term memorization

Educational effectiveness
The educational principle used in this application is "spaced and progressive memory recovery"
It should not be confused with proofreading a course which is much less effective for long term memorization.
Indeed, to activate new knowledge and anchor it in your brain, you have to go back and look for it several times. To do this, reading an answer or solving a problem is not enough, you have to ask yourself the question, look for the answer and finally, check whether it is fair and sufficiently precise.

When you want to memorize new knowledge, you have to play the game regularly and closely, for example 10-15 minutes 3 times a week.
The easier the answers become to find, the more it is necessary to space the intervals between two games: a week, a month, three months, etc ...
Conversely, there is no point in grouping the times when you play to only do it once a week, for example 1 x 45 minutes instead of 3 x 15 minutes per week. It is the recurrence of training that allows its effectiveness, as for an athlete or a musician ...

In general, if the answers are too easy to find, you have to increase the level of difficulty: for this, you can use the 3 levels of difficulty explained above.
There are two other ways to increase the level of difficulty: shuffle games from the same category, and shuffle all games from all categories. Indeed, the fact of changing the subject for each card forces the brain to have a more intense memory retrieval effort.
