About this app

This application is a GPS-based Speedometer showing the speed of the device it is installed on. The speed is displayed both with an analogue gauge and as a digital value.
Your max speed and average speed is also shown together with a tripmeter and an odometer. More adaptations of your own choice is possible, see the details below.

Functional description:

* Analogue and digital speedometer.
* Choose from four different speedometer resolutions for the analogue gauge: 0-30, 0-60, 0-120 or 0-240 speed units.
* The speed can be displayed in one of three different units: kilometers per hour (km/h), miles per hour (mph) or knots (nautical miles per hour).
* When unit km/h is selected the speed in m/s (meter/second) is also displayed.
* When unit mph is selected the speed in fps (feet per second) is also displayed.
* Max speed
* Average speed
* Tripmeter
* Odometer
* Possibility to pause the meters by a "long click" on the screen.

Ratings and reviews

This app works great on my Pixel 4a (Android 11), and I really like its simple interface. 30 miles worth of highway mile markers showed the trip meter spot on. What I believe makes a speedometer app great is "less is more". Please get rid of the FPS (m/s) and Odometer stats, as they are useless for most people. Also, please make the digital speed larger and easier to read for us old people, and reposition the trip meter centered at the bottom of the analog speedometer. Two other things I'd like to see are: 1. Make it easier to reset the trip meter by pressing and holding it for one or two seconds, or simply add a master reset button at the bottom of the screen. 2. Since the app must continuously have focus to operate, then adding an easy way to control brightness would be very helpful, such as by swiping up/down on the screen. This would help reduce screen burn-in on OLED displays. Regardless, I think this is a great app that I'd be willing to pay for.

I have used this every day for over a year in an old truck with no working speedometer. It takes barely any battery on an AMOLED display due to background, is clearly readable, has no ads... This app is a service to mankind, there's no other simple speedometer in the Play Store like this. Grateful that it's here. It is sincerely one reason I couldn't switch to an iPhone. Thank you.

Since the update the responsiveness of the speedometer has become really slow and lags a lot. The previous version was much better! Don't mind having to pay for the added features but only worth it if the Speedo works properly. Also the meter resets should be easier to access from the home page as it's a long process now as opposed to the first version. Otherwise overall a good app and no ads which is great!
