ViVa, the Swedish Maritime Administration's information service for weather, wind and water levels, gives you observations in close real time. The Swedish Maritime Administration and SMHI have over 100 weather stations around Sweden's coast and in some lakes and streams. The measuring stations provide information on wind speed, wind direction, water level, water flow, water temperature, water salinity and density, air pressure, humidity and air temperature and visibility. Each station has, based on the needs of the commercial shipping, a specific set of sensors and it therefore varies which parameters, of the above mentioned, are measured in each location.
The Swedish Maritime Administration is not responsible for ensuring that all information is correct. Anyone who operates a particular area is responsible for making an assessment of the prevailing weather and water conditions.
