About this app

Do Not Disturb (DND 3.0) App enables smart phone users to register their mobile number under DND to avoid Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC)/ Telemarketing Calls / SMS. This is based on TRAI, “Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations, 2018”.

The App helps you:

1. Set your DND preferences.
2. Lodge a UCC complaint with your service provider.
3. Check the status of complaints filed with your service provider.

The App requires permission to access your address book to distinguish between calls/messages from your saved contacts and those from unknown telemarketers. You contact list is neither uploaded to the backend, nor shared in any manner.

The new release has the following additional features:

· An intelligent spam detection engine (for SMS only) to assist the subscriber in reporting

· Crowdsourcing of data about offending messages and calls to speed up detection of unregistered telemarketers

· Updates about action taken on complaints within the App

· Easier interface and set up

Note: In MIUI Phones, permission has to be added manually for getting list of messages from header like XY-AAAAAA. For this, Please go to app permissions and click on other permissions. Select DND app and you will find Service SMS field which is disabled. Please enable this field to view header sms in DND App.

Ratings and reviews

The app is very inconsistent in retrieving the call records. It rarely shows the latest calls. When we tap on Report Voice it shows up old call records, mostly previous day's. This issue was there before but occasionally it used to work. But nowadays the issue occurs everytime making it impossible to report any voice calls. Have given the app all the required permissions, so its not a permission issue.

App itself looks a fraud. High possibility of nexus with private business players. It claims as app to register your mobile for dnd, but it doesn't do that, fails. And if you try to report any number, it sends response as your number is not listed in dnd, despite having requested that. Equally is BSNL dnd request ineffective. Nahi sudhrenge.

This is pathetic app. Everytime after Update, we need to do DND registration again. Most of the times (>90 %), DND registration will fail with error message "System error". Also there is no point in using this app. The purpose of this app is only send a notification to the telecaller. They don't take Any action against anyone. I have raised 100 plus complaints and not a single telecaller stopped calling.
