Having a school of thought, is it obligatory?, a question on a problem that has the consequences of syar'iy law. In a sense, if having a school of law is obligatory, then the consequence is, for people who do not have a school of law, they will sin. This is because the term obligatory in Islamic law is defined as a matter which, if abandoned, will have the implication of sin. However, if the law of the school is not obligatory, then, is the law sunnah, mubah, makruh, or even haram?
