The advertising community Donau Upper Austria comprises 42 municipalities including four Bavarian towns of Passau to Linz to St. Nikola, with around 355,000 inhabitants and more than 1.8 million overnight stays. The association was established in 1991 to carry out the offer development, advertising and marketing for the Danube Region and to accelerate regional development.
The focus of the tourism marketing are: Austria route No. 1, the Danube bike path, walking on the Danube - the Danube Trail was opened on 3 July 2010 Danube navigation and culture on the Danube.. The daily and excursion tourism plays a very important role on the Danube.
In September 1997, the WGD was founded Donau Upper Austria Tourist Board to market belonging to the province of Upper Austria 15 boat docks on the Danube. About 800,000 passengers travel every year with excursion and cabin vessels the Danube region.
