Great hardware hindered by terrible software. The Nvidia shield is by far the best stream box I've used, yet it's plagued by an app that half-works. Disconnecting from the shield after MAYBE 5 minutes of inactivity, causing you to restart the app and wait for it to reconnect. It has lackluster Google home support, which also sometimes just doesn't work and you end up having to reconnect to the service. Can't launch app on power on either.

I am editing my review for a simple reason. Since initial connection, the app will neither find my Shield on the network or remain connected when paired via ip address. Please fix this ASAP. Even more important than the other issues listed. Even the best designed remote app is useless if it will not remain connected. Original review follows: I loved the first run. A few glaring issues that you can easily fix. There is no way to scroll in the mouse mode. You could easily implement the 2 fingered scroll that many of us are used to. Or a scroll portion of the mouse pad. Slide scrolling through the UI would be much easier to use than even the dpad. You could even do both on the same interface, allowing up, down, left, right gestures to move through the desktop.

Not interested in sharing location data, without benefit to myself. So it won't launch. Based on others reviews, it's lacking. The best thing about the Google version is the voice button, because Assistant can do so much. I use a USB wireless keyboard/touchpad that was around $10, it has everything better than this app, and is good enough for game input. Worth getting real instead of virtual.
