Surah Al-Qasas is the twenty-eighth surah within the twentieth part of the Holy Qur’an, and it is one of the Meccan surahs, and it was named so; Because it reviewed the story of Moses, peace be upon him, since his birth, in all its details.
And it talks about the story of the Children of Israel, Moses, peace be upon him, and the Pharaohs, and about Qarun and what his fate ended up with, as it talks about monotheism, the resurrection, the importance of the Qur’an, and the issue of guidance and misguidance.
Among its well-known verses is the Almighty’s saying in verse (5):
There are many narrations about the virtue of reading it, including what was narrated on the authority of the Prophet (PBUH): Whoever reads Tasm Al-Qasas will have a reward equal to the number of those who believed and disbelieved in Moses, and there was no angel left in the heavens and the earth but that it testified to him on the Day of Resurrection that he was truthful that everything is perishable except his face.
