The Via Crucis (in Latin: "way of the cross") is one of the most widespread devotions among Catholics.
It is usually prayed on Good Friday or on the Fridays of Lent and refers to the moments experienced by Jesus from his arrest to his crucifixion and burial.
It is a path of prayer, based on the meditation of the passion and death of Jesus Christ on his way to Mount Calvary.
The beautiful meditations of this Via Crucis belong to the posthumous book of Saint Josemaría Escrivá and were generously made available by the Studium Foundation.
Josemaría Escrivá was a founding priest of Opus Dei, who dedicated his life to spreading the universal call to holiness. He lived between 1902 and 1975, and was proclaimed a Saint on October 6, 2002.
