About this app

A simple widget to use a phone as a flashlight. Tested on Pixel 3a, Pixel 2, Moto Z, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nexus 10.


Explanation for permissions

Take pictures and videos:
The Flashlight is technical part of the camera.

Prevent phone from sleeping:
Needed to reliable use the flashlight while screen is switched off.

Like the full power brightness. But widget doesn't work unless you start the app directly from its icon first. Once you do that the widget works. But you shouldn't have to do that!

It requires permit ion to take pictures and recording videos, wich is personal and Un needed, when denied the app doesn't make you're flash turn on. Don't recommend ...

On older devices, it seems to me that the most reliable way is to get permission for the whole camera with the flashlight in it. It's important to me that the app runs on old devices that don't have a built-in button for the flashlight and I don't want to break that.

Installed, gave app access to camera for torch. Worked once or twice and then became unresponsive.
