About this app

The carbohydrate table in the Carbohydrate Expert has been compiled by dietitians who are affiliated with medical institutions. This distinguishes the Carbohydrate connoisseur from many other carbohydrate tables.
The Carbohydrate Expert has been developed in collaboration with the doctors and dieticians of Diabeter, the national knowledge center for Diabetes.

For more than 1000 products, the Carbohydrate Expert gives the amount of carbohydrates (grams) per quantity. The unit in which this quantity is given differs per product. For example, a glass of apple juice contains 12 grams of carbohydrates. One piece of baklava (30 grams) contains 16 grams of carbohydrates. These values have been verified by recognized doctors and dieticians.

The carbohydrate connoisseur helps you count with carbohydrates. Products can be bundled into a so-called eating moment. The total amount of carbohydrates is counted per eating moment. These eating moments are saved and can be looked up later.
You can also easily expand the extensive list of products with 'own' products. These 'own' products are included in the standard list. All available functions also apply to these products.
The Carbohydrate expert also has a number of handy rules of thumb with which the amount of carbohydrates can be calculated very quickly from a separate list of products.

With diabetes, treatment increasingly consists of a combination of knowledge and technology. Good and successful use of, for example, an insulin pump also requires good knowledge of carbohydrates. The Carbohydrate connoisseur is a solution because that knowledge can be looked up quickly and well. And good carbohydrate knowledge becomes even more important now that the insulin pump can be connected to the sensor that continuously measures the blood sugar level.
