Kotimaskotti is an application prototype developed by Aistico Oy in the PEEK project of the University of Vaasa. It monitors the condition of the home by reading sensor data and changing its appearance according to how sparingly the family has lived. If you get to keep the mascot happy for a long time, you get to play with it.
It’s a smart home app for people, not just engineers.
The application has been developed as part of the Gaming Energy and Circular Economy Solutions project. It is a project coordinated by the University of Vaasa that has received ERDF funding from the European Regional Development Fund through the Association of Southern Ostrobothnia.
With the help of separately installed sensor devices, Kotimaskotti collects information about the home's energy and water consumption on the phone. If desired, consumption data can be (opt-in) sent anonymously to Aistico Oy's server.
The application does not collect, store or send personal data or data to be combined with a person. It also does not use commands or interfaces that would associate the user's personal information with the use of the application. The Application Privacy Statement is here:
