About this app

FlickBoard is a flicking-style keyboard, in the style of MessagEase and Thumb-Key.

Type the letters in the center of a key by tapping it. Type the keys in the corners by swiping in that direction. That's it!

This app is open source, see https://github.com/nightkr/flickboard!

Good, but still missing features from Messagease that I heavily rely on through muscle memory, like circle to select all and tap the top control button to hide. It is also missing the diacritic selector. The delete key goes way too fast (very difficult to delete only one character), and there is much less overall customization compared to Messagease. It does have a couple advantages vs Messagease, namely in that it's FOSS and not surprise ransomware.

So far so good. Where are the two special characters [the a and o with the two dots over them] located as I keep having them show up in words and cant figure out what I am hitting. As a prior ME user, finding this was a blessing. Muscle memory makes typing fun again. I just ca.nnot deal with QWERTY. I see the microphone but when I swipe it, I get the message No Voice Input Method Found. So I went into setting, apps and FlickBoard - permissions for microphone, camera, etc is grayed out.

Ö and Ä are combined characters, you get them by typing O¨ and A¨ respectively (¨ is T-up). Voice input uses your "regular" voice input method (like Google Voice Typing), so you need to have one of those installed and enabled. Only that keyboard then requires mic permissions, not FlickBoard.

My first impression is positive, thanks for all the options, but not an overload of them. Very satisfied with the mini numpad, wondering if you could implement the numpad vs phone layout option to also flip that top/bottom. Also I am right handed but seem to favor the mini left handed version, don't know why. Thank you for the excelent update, addressed all my notes!

Flipping the mini layout sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to the todo list! As for handedness.. yeah, it seems to correlate less to "regular" handedness than I expected, so it would probably be good to find a more neutral name for it.

What's new

- Re-enabled "Gestures are no longer clipped by the keyboard"
- Disabled fullscreen mode (due to the above)
