The Ecofon app is developed by the Russian non-profit environmental organization Climate Security Foundation.
The main priorities of the Foundation's work are: increasing the role of civil society in environmental protection and conservation of biological diversity, the formation of environmental thinking, environmental culture of citizens, as well as the creation of an effective system of environmental education.
Based on this, the Foundation plans to create on its basis a global international network that unites the public, environmental experts, lawyers, businesses and government agencies to protect the environment of both individual regions and entire countries.
This is a simple and convenient tool that helps everyone report an environmental violation and make a personal contribution to the conservation of nature.
For this you need:
1) register in the Application, indicating the minimum amount of personal data;
2) create an application: take a photo of the incident, select the type and subtype of the violation, enter the required data and add a description of the violation.
Users are guaranteed confidentiality: after creating an application, all further work on it, including correspondence with authorities and representation, if necessary, in court, is carried out by the Foundation on its own behalf, without disclosing the identity of the Application user.
The specialists will promptly check the information received through the Ecofon application using satellite images, and involve environmental experts. Based on a specially developed methodology, the possible damage to the environment will be calculated. After that, the Fund's legal team will prepare an appeal to the authorized bodies for taking response measures.
The results of consideration of applications by the authorities will be placed on an interactive map in the Ecofon application and will show a real picture of the environmental situation in the context of each subject of the Russian Federation.
Based on the data collected in the application, the Rating of regions is formed.
The rating of regions is set based on the results of the calendar year, taking into account the ratio of open and closed applications:
• from 1% to 39% - low rating;
• from 40% to 69% - average rating;
• from 70% to 100% - high rating.
The application also maintains a rating of users - eco-activists who are assigned stars and statuses:
• from 1 to 69 points - Beginner;
• from 70 to 699 - 1 star - Advanced;
• from 700 to 1499 - 2 stars - Experienced;
• from 1500 to 1999 - 3 stars - Specialist;
• from 2000 to 2999 - 4 stars - Expert;
• from 3000 - 5 stars - Pro.
Through the Application, the Fund's experts will also be able to collect and evaluate information on positive environmental initiatives and projects of the regions, which will allow tracking the dynamics of regional development.
