About this app

3D Viewer – A virtual reality viewer for 3D models exported from Chief Architect software. Visualize and navigate home projects before they are built using the Sojourn 3D virtual reality navigation tools. Walk or Fly through designs and experience exterior, room, cross section, and floor plan views. Use a virtual reality headset to immerse yourself in the model. Try it out, it’s fun!

To view models with 3D Viewer, export the original model with saved cameras from Chief Architect software to the cloud (provided by Chief Architect) and open the model using 3D Viewer. A great service if you are a professional builder/designer and want to share a virtual model with your clients.

Sojourn 3D virtual reality navigation:
-thumbsticks to move (fly) and rotate
-gyro camera for free form viewing
-background camera on / off
-walk thru allowing you to physically walk
-dynamic camera height while in fly mode
-manual camera height adjustment

System Requirements:
• Android 8.0 or newer
• 2 GB of RAM
• 400 MB Storage Space
• Accelerometer and gyro with sensor fusion (Required for some Sojourn® features to function)
• Back-facing camera (Required for some Sojourn® features to function)
• Support for OpenGL ES 3 or higher
• Samsung S Pen not supported

I'm using it to view models that the interior designer sends us. I have done CAD in the past so the interface seems straight forward to me. I have not done any designing. I wish that it were possible to view a model without making an account. The app often runs out of memory and crashes on my Samsung S22. This is usually after at least ten minutes of use and I can just re-open the model so it's not toooooo much of a problem.

The files are extremely difficult to navigate. There should be a way to go home with the push of a button. There should be a way to view levels with the push of a button. It is too hard to view different levels by zooming in and out. I find myself in the middle of walls frequently. Two stars is generous.

Since I use the full blown professional version of CA. And everyone lives on their stupid little phones, I find this app works extremely well for the Contractor or Client, that is tech savvy. It seems to work even better than the desktop viewer, fast and easy to use. I'm sending this mobile link to all my clients, along with the desktop version. Most of my clients, once they figure it out, just love it. Well done CA!
