About this game

Enigma is a game full of ciphers and interesting puzzles. Each answer to the puzzle refers to interesting facts, stories, phenomena, etc.

This game will entertain those who know a thing or two about cryptography and will be a great starting point for those who don't know everything about it because there is an explanation prepared for each puzzle.

Also, this game is for you if you like to discover new facts, I believe that you'll definitely learn something new from answers to the puzzles!

This game is inspired by the famous Cicada 3301, even though puzzles are not so sophisticated, I believe it would be a good start for those who want to try something similar!

Cryptology is a science concerned with data communication and storage in a secure and usually secret form. It encompasses both cryptography and cryptanalysis.

The term cryptology is derived from the Greek kryptós (“hidden”) and lógos (“word”). Security obtains from legitimate users being able to transform information by virtue of a secret key or keys—i.e., information known only to them. The resulting cipher, although generally inscrutable and not forgeable without the secret key, can be decrypted by anyone knowing the key either to recover the hidden information or to authenticate the source. Secrecy, though still an important function in cryptology, is often no longer the main purpose of using a transformation, and the resulting transformation may be only loosely considered a cipher.

Cicada 3301 is a nickname given to the entity that posted three sets of puzzles online between 2012 and 2014. The puzzles focused heavily on data security, cryptography, steganography, and internet anonymity. It has been called "the most elaborate and mysterious puzzle of the internet age", and is listed as one of the "top 5 eeriest, unsolved mysteries of the internet" by The Washington Post, and much speculation exists as to its function. Many have speculated that the puzzles are a recruitment tool for the NSA, CIA, MI6, a "Masonic conspiracy", or a cyber mercenary group. Others have stated Cicada 3301 is an alternate reality game, although no company or individual has attempted to monetize it.

This app is as fun as it is challenging, and I'm very happy that I managed to find it. The puzzles were pretty simple but was educational and was very much worth the money I spent to remove the ads. I wish I could fluff up my review some more, but it's getting close to 4am and I need the sleep. Thank you for the lesson.

Don't know what I'm missing but this game seems broken. The first puzzle is just one sentence on the screen and nothing else. Even though it's immediately obvious to an English speaker what the answer is, there's no place to type it in or interact with the game in any way. The menu does nothing either, you can't switch puzzles at all.

Awesome game with unique "rules"(use everything you want to solve the puzzle). Almost every solution leads you to some interesting fact or article or something. And that rewarding feeling when you solve the puzzle... so far at level 12😁
