I didn't like it at all. It's not accurate. It records every hard break as a bad thing and has no discretion, even if a hard break just saved your life. I don't do a lot of my own driving, so every time I'm a passenger even if it's public transportation I have to go into the app and change it to passenger. Even when my phone is in the trunk secured in a unmovable position, I still get dinged for phone distractions like tapping it. And bottom line, I don't like being tracked.

Thanks for trying our app, Sharon. Safety should always be a top priority, and we understand sometimes hard braking events are inevitable. Our scoring model accounts for these situations. For the most part the app is fine, though there is no option to indicate when a passenger uses your phone. Since it affects your discount, that option should be provided. I also noticed it seems overly sensitive for stopping too fast, when one would hardly consider it a hard stop. I haven't seen it score anything but 1 or 5 stars. Since there are various degrees of braking, there should be varied scores given.

Thanks for your review and feedback, Nancy! We’re working on new labels for this but for now, you may use the label ‘Other’ for these trips. Regarding hard braking, make sure your phone is secured or mounted for the most accurate readings. As an Amica customer and as a Product Manager I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this app. There are a lot of variables they have to sift through to make this accurate and fair, let alone engaging. I've used other UBI apps and programs and Amica's is by far the most transparent, engaging and fair. The extra rewards add an additional bonus that makes it engaging. Keep your phone mounted in a solid car mount like they say and you'll do great. It's actually pretty easy to keep a 100 score
