I agree with other reviews, as I have the same issue with getting dinged for extreme braking on average braking for traffic lights turning from green and for distracted driving when my phone is locked and not being used. If the braking wasn't so sensitive and the distracted driving for tapping my screen wasn't incorrect, I could give the app a higher score.

Hello Abe. To prevent incorrect events, please be sure to secure your phone in an immovable position, like on a flat, non-slip surface or in a car mount. This will help ensure that readings are correct during your trip. If you’re interested in discussing best practices with us, please email us at streetsmartsupport@amica.com. Thank you.

As an Amica customer and as a Product Manager I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this app. There are a lot of variables they have to sift through to make this accurate and fair, let alone engaging. I've used other UBI apps and programs and Amica's is by far the most transparent, engaging and fair. The extra rewards add an additional bonus that makes it engaging. Keep your phone mounted in a solid car mount like they say and you'll do great. It's actually pretty easy to keep a 100 score
Hi Chase! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave this five-star review of the StreetSmart by Amica app. Thank you for your wonderful feedback!

Overall I like the app. However, it doesn't have what I call Situation Awareness. By that I mean, if the screen on the phone is touched IT thinks you are using the phone to call/receive. Or going through the city (Providence)with speed pumps, stop lights, and people walking across main street. So in my judgment, one rides the break to keep the car under the 25mph and going slowly over speed pumps as to not damage the front end.The program is wrong;Thinking you are speeding ,less than 25mph.

Thanks for using our app, Joseph! Driving events are based on phone sensors. If the screen gets touched while driving, a “distraction” is recorded. To ensure accuracy, keep the phone secured—like face up on a flat non-slip surface or in a car mount. If you'd like us to review any of your trips, email us at streetsmartsupport@amica.com. Thank you!
