About this app

Daily Beekeeper Notes and Hive Management

The application allows the beekeeper to keep detailed daily notes about hive care and maintenance. You can record any important event: hive inspections, adding or removing frames, applying treatments, feeding, expanding brood chambers, or installing supers. These notes help build a clear chronological history of each hive’s development.
By maintaining regular notes, the beekeeper can track how the colony reacts to different actions, monitor progress over the season, and quickly identify when something unusual happens. Over time, these logs form a valuable reference that supports better planning, analysis, and health management of the apiary.

Hive Description and Saved Parameters

Each hive in the app has its own profile that stores detailed information as part of a digital beekeeper’s diary. The hive description may include:

- hive type

- year and presence of the queen

- number of brood frames and honey supers

- quantity of drawn comb and foundation

- condition of the brood (presence of eggs, larvae, capped brood)

- colony temperament and aggressiveness

- swarming tendency or swarm-preparation state

- and many other parameters the beekeeper may want to document

All this information is saved in the system, making it easy to compare hive conditions, track changes, and maintain accurate records throughout the season.

Receiving Data via SMS or Wi-Fi

The app receives information either via SMS or via Wi-Fi when close to the device. Its main purpose is to collect weight, temperature, and other measurements sent by the hive monitoring system and present them in graphs and tables. Without SMS data, the app cannot receive long-distance updates about the apiary’s condition.

An additional feature allows the beekeeper to complement device readings with short notes. Receiving data via SMS or Wi-Fi is essential for the full functionality of the application. In demo mode, SMS access can be disabled for testing; otherwise, receiving and processing SMS messages is impossible.

While taking notes is possible even without device data, the app will not function fully or effectively, as the lack of sensor information limits monitoring capabilities.

The operating principle is simple: one or several hive scales send periodic SMS messages containing hive data. The application receives these messages and generates various graphs and tables to help the beekeeper analyze the colony’s condition. You can also add event descriptions to the hive’s timeline. For remote apiaries, receiving SMS from devices is critically important.

System Purpose

Apiary4.Bee is designed to support continuous monitoring of the life activity of a bee colony or the entire apiary. The system collects hive weight, internal and external temperature, humidity, pressure, and other parameters. This information helps the beekeeper monitor family development stages and make analyses and forecasts.

- In summer, the beekeeper can track nectar flow or prevent unwanted swarming.

- In winter, weight changes indicate when additional feeding may be required.

- Humidity and temperature indicators help maintain colony health.

The device is optimized for long battery life and minimal data traffic.
It does not collect personal or technical information and does not transmit it to third parties.
