About this game

Constantinople is a solitaire historical wargame covering the millennium-long history of the Byzantine empire, from the foundation of Constantinople in AD330 until its fall in AD1453. You will use military might as well as diplomacy and outright bribery to keep the many opposing forces at bay for as long as possible. Can you outlive the historic Byzantine empire, or will your efforts be relegated to an obscure footnote in the history books?

Constantinople is not a highly detailed, historically accurate simulation of the history of the Byzantine Empire, but is historically based and gives a sense of the real situation of the Byzantine Empire throughout its existence, and provides some insights into the history surrounding Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire.

App is optimized for phones but playable on tablets (just bigger).

Incredibly underwhelmed. You could call it something generic and it'd still be the same game. The historical factor is aite, but they're basically flash cards tags onto each event in game; and they're just a shuffle of the same events in some order so nothing really changes between games. It's just some basic management against RNG. Finally, as others have noted, the rolls are unbalanced making the success or failure of a 2 req more of a 50/50 instead of the 2/1 expected over repeated games.

This one is actually pretty good, and that's rare for a mobile game. It plays like a digital board game (which was probably the point) and it excells at that. The loop itself is pretty simple and revolves around dice rolls. You try and keep all your resources high, and keep enemy factions away. Simple and Sweet.

There's something wrong with the dice roller. I constantly roll 1, which is completely unrealistic compared to rolling d6's irl. This makes it way too difficult to beat the game, even on easy mode. This game would have way more potential if you fixed the dice roller!
