GAMEPLAY

Just like golf, the goal of the Play Nine is to take as few strokes as possible. Limit your strokes by matching pairs and getting a Hole-In-One. Take the fewest strokes and go for the lowest score after 9 Holes!

Each player is dealt eight cards with a discard pile and draw pile at the center of the table. To start the game each player flips two cards face up. Moving clockwise each player draws from either the deck or discard pile and has an option to replace one of their face up or facedown cards. If a player does not want their drawn card they may choose to flip one of their facedown cards for their turn. Players work to match vertical pairs of cards to reduce their number of strokes. Just like the game of golf, the person with the lowest score wins the hole.

Ratings and reviews

it's good practice for the real game. I do question the "randomness" of the cards played when playing against the A.I. But for it being a mobile game, I wished there was more to it. More options in the settings. The coin and ticket currency isn't useful in the shop. It feels very basic. Please bring back Journey, that was so fun.

There's an issue with the Journey. No matter how well I score on the 3rd game, I always lose and the score is not reflected on the score card. it's always the same score regardless of what the actual score is. Also, get rid of down time. end the game immediately if the other player quits. And 20 seconds is too long. 5 seconds should be it. Games take too long for players just twiddling their thumbs.

The app plays well and passes the time. Ads are annoying only because they force open the app download screen that has to be closed to then close the ad again. Also, from what I can find this game has a scam to it; coins cost actual money but there's literally no reason or adequate options to spend coins on. I've searched all over and all I can find is "spend on avatars and costumes" but those are all locked by XP. This won't stop me from playing, but worth mentioning in a review.
