About this app

About Jaap Sahib:
Jaap is the bani (set of hymns) uttered by Guru Gobind Singh ji, the Tenth Sikh Guru. It is the first bani recorded on Shri Dasam Granth Sahib from Page 1. It is the second bani of the Nitnem in the daily morning prayer routine of a Sikh each morning. This Bani is an important Sikh prayer, and is recited by the Panj Pyare while preparing Amrit on the occasion of Amrit Sanchar (initiation), a ceremony held to admit initiates into the Khalsa. The Jaap Sahib is reminiscent of Japji Sahib composed by Guru Nanak, and both praise God.
