About this game

Plotback needs a phone that folds open like a book and can light its outside screen while it's open, such as a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Google Play only offers Plotback to phones like that.

One phone, held up to the room. Plotback turns a folding phone into a party game the whole room plays out loud. One person holds the phone open: the room reads the big inside screen, the holder reads the small outside one. Nobody else touches it.

BACK OF THE CARD, 2 to 8 players
Three quick rounds, and the phone goes round the table in each. The Sketch: the holder draws a word only they can see, and the room shouts what it is. The Dial: agree where an idea sits from 1 to 10, and the closer you get, the more you all score. The Key: sixteen words on show, and only the holder knows which six are theirs, so they clue the room onto them one word at a time. Every round shows what the holder does and what everyone else does before it starts. The records remember who won.

UP THE SLEEVE, 3 to 8 players
Four quick games where the holder knows something the room doesn't, or the other way round.
- Squint: name the blocky picture before it sharpens.
- The Verdict: argue a petty case at a judge who is secretly ruling on something else.
- The Nudge: the holder is secretly on one side of a daft argument and steers the room.
- Live Wire: the holder can see the device, the room has the manual, and neither can defuse it alone.

NOTHING LEAVES THE PHONE
No internet needed to play, and no sign-up. Names and records stay on this phone. Buying needs Google Play to be reachable.
