About this app

Hadrah Basaudan is perhaps a new phenomenon among the Muslims of the archipelago. This tradition was born in Hadramaut, South Yemen about two centuries ago. Like the mawlid or burdah, Hadrah Basaudan is filled with the reading of qasidahs which contain praise for the Prophet SAW, prayers and tawasul towards pious people. If burdah is usually read on Fridays or evenings, then Hadrah Basaudan is devoted to every Tuesday, either morning or evening.

Hadrah Basaudan is a collection of dhikr, munajat, ibtihal, qasidah and tawassul compiled by Shaykh 'Abdullah bin Ahmad BaSaudan. However, it is said that the initial composition came from Habib 'Umar bin 'Abdur Rahman al-Baar, then continued by his student Shaykh 'Abdullah BaSaudan and finally perfected by Habib 'Abdur Rahman al-Masyhur, author of "Bughyatul Mustarsyidin". Therefore, in some places, this hadrah is known as "Hadrah al-Baar", after the future shaykh Shaikh 'Abdulah BaSaudan, Habib 'Umar bin 'Abdur Rahman al-Baar.

This hadrah is believed to grant wishes, keep oneself away from evil and disaster thanks to the prayers and tawassul in it. Hopefully this complete book of Hadrah Basaudan is useful for all Muslims everywhere
