Ratings and reviews

Quick to discipline, slow to praise; UPDATE: I've deducted 2 stars as the app is just deducting points as soon as you make a mistake. ive counted 17 well done trips since braking warning but my score doesn't rise and it seems to have happened a month before my insurance is due to be renewed. Hastings gets the side eye (for now)

Unreliable. Screenshot blocked, so can't demonstrate issues to Hastings. Hastings initiated policy cancellation due to "score too low" when Youdrive app showed 100/100 (long-term). They admitted their systems were faulty (and app was correct), overturned cancellation but will not do so again. Issued docs to say they are cancelling insurance, but refuse to issue doc saying cancellation overturned (due to their error). +ve side: app connects to an in-car BT box; more reliable than other systems.

I'm only going to comment on the driver monitoring aspect of this app: it seems to reward steady speed motorway travel and not like nose-to-tail commuting. I suppose from an insurance point of view, one is low risk travel, and the other is high risk. I only went with this policy because the car will mostly sit idle until I find a buyer, and it was comparatively cheap.
