Ratings and reviews

The worst, and has been for years. No search function where you need it. Podcast access is terrible. Listening to episodes is unbearable because sound cuts out or deteriorates after a few minutes. I just spent 30 minutes trying to find a way to listen to an episode from October 2019. Gave up, and I've been giving yp on WHYY in general, not least because of having to listen to sponsorship plugs every time I open it.

It looks like someone's just bought a cheap off-the-shelf wrapper for the web site, which actually offers a better experience than the app. The "share" button in the app doesn't utilize Android's system-registered apps for such and instead is a small static list of generic apps that were hard-coded by the app. Send to a read-later app like Pocket? Nope. You can post to Facebook or Twitter, email, or text with the default SMS app, or open in a browser for anything else. Just start w/ the browser

this app works seamlessly. it's especially good when your listening in the car and you're at your destination but want to keep listening. there is a delay in the stream from the radio which means you get time to get your phone out kudos to the app developer.
