About this app

You have seen a lot of snails but do you know what they are called or what species they belong to? Our app will tell you the name and species of your snail just by taking your photo. You can capture snails while they are alive or capture their shells. In addition we can classify other mollusks such as slugs, oysters, clams, and squid.

does not know how to identify more obscure species. Tried to have it id the redwood sideband snail shells, and it came up as a brown garden snail. It identified catalina islandsnail as a whitelip snail and one other incorrectly. I think this app should have you include where you found it so it could see what species are in that area. also, how do I access the photos/species Ive seen? should definitely create a suggestion box. also an area to see what other possible species the shell could be.

if you're somewhat into shells and want to get into the ballpark of what order the shell is in, maybe. but it's not reliably accurate at family, genus or species. sorry
