App Always quits working, slow to load but not sure if it's just my phone or connection itsel. But Always "close app" or "wait" comes across my screen multiple times trying to just load the app. But once it does actually load and finally works it's great. I love how i can easily download my photos off my camera to my phone and take pictures on My camera with my Phone! Super easy to use, just sometimes i can't get my pictures to load on to my phone. I have to keep closing out and reopen the app.

It works but.... The biggest problem was getting it to connect to my moto g power smart phone. It would say it was connected but I couldn't do anything. After much searching online unsuccessfully, I figured it out myself. I had to go into advanced settings on my phone's Wi-Fi connection to the camera and tell it to use the camera's MAC address not a random MAC address. Also change phone wifi connection to "stay connected". Finally, app is not user-friendly, download the app manual from Kodak.

took a lot of fiddling to finally get everything to play together nicely. works just fine now, very frustrating start. i'll try to give the best instructions I can because they are non-existent in any official form. apologies in advance, play store deleted all my formatting and crammed this all into one long paragraph. 1::: start by naming your camera something recognizable. to rename your device. all button names are according to the user manual: press the menu button (very bottom left), scroll all the way to the bottom where it shows the menu symbol and says "press set to enter". press set. 2::: scroll to the bottom to the wifi symbol. "DSC Device" should be highlighted in red, press set and type in an easy to remember name. this will be the name of the wifi network you need to connect your phone to. be sure to press save. 3::: press the mode button, scroll to and press select on wifi mode (between underwater and auto mode). select AP mode. the camera is now setup and ready, don't press anymore buttons on the camera the rest of the steps are on your phone. 4::: don't open the pixpro app yet. if it's open already make sure to close it completely (swipe up for a list of running apps, and swipe up on the pixpro window). 5::: navigate to your wifi settings menu. on my pixel 3a i can just swipe down from the top and long press the wifi symbol. other phones you might need to scroll through your app tray for 'settings' and find wifi options within 'network & internet'. disconnect from any current wifi connections. 6::: scroll through your list of available wifi connections until you see the name of your camera entered previously, and select that. if you get a pop up saying "this connection does not have internet access, disconnect?" check the box 'don't tell me again' and hit 'ignore. 7:::' open the pixpro app. you should hopefully see a black screen with an orange loading wheel, and after a few seconds you should see buttons similar to your default camera app, but with the view coming from the camera instead of your phones camera. it should work ok from here. i've used it for about an hour and no other issues yet once it's setup properly. 8:::: few extra troubleshooting tips: it appears to not work if you deny access to location information, giving just a blank orange screen that will not connect to the camera. however you do not need to have location turned on on your phone to get the app to function. I suggest setting location data permission to "only while the app is running", and turning location data off completely while using the app if, like me, you don't want to give apps data they don't need. ::::for any developer that might (doubtful) actually read this: don't force location data. give error reports so users know what's wrong, a blank orange screen is so incredibly unhelpful. put instructions IN the app, showing where to go within the camera. super confusing that selecting wifi settings isn't under wifi settings, but under wifi mode. they should both lead to the same place and functionality. with future cameras, please just use bluetooth tethering and put in a dedicated bluetooth button for no-nonsense pairing. once it works this app is great, all the features of the camera controllable from my phone. easy and quick downloading images. no major redesigns need to happen, it just desperately needs some bug-fixing and clear instructions.
