About this game

This is the trial version of Chess PGN Master, a learning and study tool for chess amateurs and professionals alike. In order to improve in chess, apart from playing lots of games, it is essential to

● study chess games from masters and to try to understand why the moves were played
● study endgame positions
● gain a basic knowledge of the openings you play

Chess PGN Master helps you with these tasks by making it easy to

● review chess games
● enter your own games and blunder check them
● analyze games with a strong chess engine (Stockfish 13)
● play positions against a chess engine

and it can do a lot more!

Ratings and reviews

This app has a lot of potential, and I would love it except for one major flaw. It allows (and recommends, and plays with!) infinite repeated moves. That isn't chess. In chess, we cannot repeat a position three times, or it is a draw. This app doesn't respect that rule, so it therefore must be playing something other than chess. As I see it, this is a huge problem. It means that when analyzing a game, it is getting stuck in endless loops and recommending moves that would result in a draw.

I'm a long time user and love the app for reviewing games and openings. It's very well thought out with good customizations and sensible defaults. One request please: can we please get the long press behaviour back, at least as an option. Going back to the previous split makes it very hard to navigate games with many variations.

I can't select games on the search master games option. It gives me the same game no matter the input. It has plenty of other problems. The position search never works.
