About this app

Intervals are the foundation of music theory. Accurate understanding and consistent, repeated practice build real skill. Since January 2020, this app has been a comprehensive learning tool that brings together staff-based interval calculation, sheet-music style interval exercises, and interval ear training—all in one place. By adopting a then-rare “score-based interval learning approach,” it has been consistently used and trusted by music majors and performers.

📏 Interval Calculator
When you enter two notes on the staff, the same notes are highlighted on a piano keyboard, helping you understand interval calculation more intuitively.
The app also shows interval abbreviations (P, M, m, A, d) and indicates whether the interval is simple or compound, making it easy to learn different notation systems.
You can also calculate intervals with key signatures and clefs applied.

🖋 Interval Exercises
You can freely choose options such as key signatures, accidentals, staff type, difficulty level, and clefs to build the kind of interval questions you want. With the app’s unique random generation system, you can always practice new, fresh interval problems.
When a question feels challenging, you can refer to the notes shown on the keyboard and count semitones yourself to work out the answer.
The higher your score with more advanced options, the more dazzling the fireworks animations—making practice even more enjoyable.

👂 Interval Ear Training
Rather than simply memorizing intervals, it’s important to understand the unique “color” of each interval musically. You can create your own personalized ear-training sessions by choosing relative pitch or absolute pitch, melodic or harmonic intervals, difficulty level, and playback speed. As the level increases, the questions become more challenging.

📙 Interval Theory
If you want to understand interval concepts easily, we recommend starting with the theory section. Intervals actually work on a surprisingly simple principle.
Core topics—such as interval numbers, simple vs. compound intervals, harmonic vs. melodic intervals, inverted intervals, semitone calculation, and enharmonic relationships—are explained step by step in a clear and accessible way, so anyone can grasp the underlying logic.
