About this app

The Infectio app contains a compact guideline for the use of antibiotics and other anti-infectives for the treatment of human infections. The Infectio app is aimed at doctors and other medical professionals. This guideline was created by the Saarland InfectioSaar network (funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family in Saarland) in collaboration with the Antibiotic Stewardship team of the Saarland University Hospital. In addition to therapy recommendations, the Infectio app provides information on important pathogens and the clinical symptoms and diagnostics of certain infections. In addition, characteristics of commonly used drugs are shown. The aim of the guideline is to provide doctors with an overview and assistance in the diagnosis and therapy of various infections. However, the Infectio App cannot replace the individual therapy decision of the individual doctor based on patient-specific factors. The Infectio app is based on current guidelines from scientific societies and clinical trial results. References to further literature are stored in the guideline.
