At Dimitra, we are on a mission to make our technology available to smallholder farmers globally. We believe that every smallholder farmer, regardless of economic standing, should benefit from simple, beautiful, and useful technology... because when farmers thrive, entire economies thrive.
According to the World Bank, agricultural development is one of the most powerful tools to end extreme poverty, boost shared prosperity, and feed a growing world. Growth in the agriculture sector is 2-4 times more effective in raising incomes among the world's poorest compared to other business sectors.
Smallholder farmers are rapidly adopting mobile phones and have a new platform to run their businesses, learn new farming techniques, record their performance, and communicate with government ministries and agricultural experts. Most agricultural software is an expense that they cannot afford. We are on a mission to change agriculture software affordability.
The Cacao sector is mostly made up of small farmers who are faced with new challenges every day, such as the new deforestation law in the European Union.
Without a tool that can help these farmers gain access to more knowledge and help them offer traceability and transparency in an easier way, these farmers will face great difficulties in staying in the market.
Our "Connected Cacao" platform provides a variety of functionality to support a farmer running a small business.
My Farm - Farm registration, set goals, establish geofences, order supplies, manage invoices, manage inventory, manage workers, manage maintenance & equipment, and create a schedule.
My Crops - Manage the cycle of Cacao – fertilization and soil management, irrigation, pest and disease management, harvest, and storage.
My Cacao - Record of the quantity and quality of cocoa delivered by each farmer. Record of the process of fermentation, drying, and storage of cacao. Traceable label generation.
My Documents - record copies of your permits, licenses, chemical safety information, inspections, and contracts.
Knowledge Garden (Reports) - a growing repository of best practices on how to manage all of the elements of a farm including crop knowledge, livestock information, soil preparation practices, pest management, and other modules
