This app is utter trash. Constant bugs preventing files from playing, trying to stream courses already downloaded, and failing to open unless in airplane mode. The lectures are great - just download them as mp3s, and listen on any other media player. I've been a customer for over 15 years, and the quality slide has been atrocious. I've seen better apps made by high school students. Save your frustration, and use ANY other platform. Don't touch this company's products, even if you get them free.

The app does what its supposed to do, but it causes a lot of crashes. I've had it on four different phones, all have the same problems. Once you've run it, it will restart at random, restarting the last course I was listening to at odd times hours or days later, play simultaniously with music and other apps, and cause phones to lockup. The only way I've found to prevent these issue is to reboot the phone when I'm done using it.

September 2019 Update: Significant progress has been made to address the navigation issues from previous releases. Thank you! Organizing courses still remains an issue. It would be nice to simplify the way the courses are arranged in the app, especially allowing one to "archive" the courses that I've already completed (for instance in an archive folder). This would allow for much easier navigation within the app itself. The second one is that there is no support for Android Auto (or Apple Carplay). Many cars now have one or the other, but I still have to manually control the app on the cell phone screen instead of safely within the built in car software. At the time of this writing, there are 286 apps available for Android Auto, many of them small radio stations, so I wouldn't think designing this app for Android Auto would be that difficult. To drive home the point, it's harder to listen to the Great Courses app using my cell phone instead of Android Auto. Thus, I listen much less often, and complete courses less often. Thus, I buy fewer courses. Make it easy for me to listen in the car, and I'll buy more courses--simple as that.
