Kanji Lookup - simple, fast, and hassle-free!

This App is not a dictionary or an exhaustive Kanji reference - and nor does it strive to be! Instead, it focusses on - and attempts to excel at - one thing: Finding the meaning of an unknown Kanji character as quickly and easily as possible using the only way that really makes sense on a touch-enable device: by drawing it.

Stop wasting your time counting strokes, deciphering radicals, or learning the intricacies of 'well-designed' lookup schemes - simply start drawing the character and watch results appear instantaneously.
KanjiLookup does not clutter your results with obscure readings only found in the name of that one mountain village or cross-references to paper dictionaries you most likely don't own anyway. Instead, it simply shows you what you are looking for: The character's pronunciation and definition. In addition, a searchable list of the most relevant words containing the Kanji character is only a tap away.
Of course you can also search using the keyboard.

KanjiLookup was designed from the ground up for minimal start-up time, nearly instantaneous handwriting recognition, and a clean interface that doesn't get in your way. It currently contains information for over 3500 Kanji, including but not limited to all the Joyo and Jinmeiyo characters.

Best handwriting kanji search! I use a different app for dictionary use. But when I need to look up a new kanji this is the best I have used. I can write quickly and sloppily on my phone screen and find the kanji right away. Other apps, seem to only work if your writing is perfect, and even then after taking time to make the strikes very clear, they still don't always show the kanji I'm looking for. This is invaliable for saving time. Thank you!

Wow. A kanji drawing search app that actually allows you to search kanji by drawing, and works well. Good job. My only nitpick is there's no English search or pronunciation audio, which makes the app feel incomplete. Originally have this 5 stars. Then I ran into full screen unskippable ads, which greatly makes the app unusable. Every time you click on something, you have to wait for 30 seconds while a loud video ad plays. Probably going to uninstall this.

Very helpful. Currently studying & learning Japanese. Almost at N4 level. Found a shirt shopping and couldn't remember few kanji. Found this app - which allows you to draw the kanji in question instead of trying to count stroke order. They also have a camera function, the sliver seemed much too narrow to help me with the kanji on this shirt, but it picked it up! Also, verified the info was with other sources.
