About this app

This is a ScreenSaver / DayDream for Android. It is optimized for E-Ink / E-Paper Displays. The screensaver also looks great on other displays.

It shows the time and date and the battery percentage. The display is only refreshed every 5 Minutes (adjustable) to save power.

You can select your own image or icon to be shown. Or you can even show a random image from the internet, changing every day!

Unread notifications can also be shown on the screensaver, if enabled.

To get to the settings page launch the app "EInkScreenSaver".

make sure the screensaver is enabled in the phone settings.

Customizable:
- Select your own update interval
- Select your own date and time format
- Select your own font
- Select your own image or icon
- Choose between different refresh modes
- Choose between dark or bright mode

Instructions:
- Grant all permissions for the app.
- Enable the screensaver in Settings > Display > Screensaver
- Change your settings by launching the "EInkScreenSaver" App

Now the screensaver will start after the screen timeout, or when the power button is pressed.

Information for usage on the Minimal Phone MP01:
- Make sure the screensaver is set to start "when docked AND charging". Otherwise it will not work properly on the MP01.
- The screensaver will update the screen one time 30 seconds after it was started and briefly shows the lock-screen, that's normal and a necessary workaround due to phone limitations, otherwise the phone can't show real-time data like the time. After the refresh it goes back to the screensaver.
- Set your screen light to cold/blue. Due to phone limitations the screensaver can not control the warm/yellow screen light properly.
- If you don't need real-time data, use "Battery Saver" mode in the screensaver settings and select a long refresh interval, then it will not refresh the screen at all after it was started, but can still show a picture for example.
- Battery Saver Mode can also be used with normal refresh intervals to show updated data, and it is very efficient, it basically uses no additional battery power at all. But it shows the lock-screen on every refresh for a few seconds.
- The phone has many limitations, and the screensaver has many workarounds to enable the functionality it provides. It is the only screensaver for the MP01 that offers all this functionality.
- There are many settings to customize it in the way you like and create the functionality you want.
- Long-Pressing on any setting in the settings menu gives an explanation of what it does.
