This is the illusion of choice. Like all of the bots and paid reviewers said, this game does not force ads. However, the scaling is such that by the time you reach the third or fourth timeline, you either have to play the first wave over and over again for three hours, watch a bunch of ads, or make a bunch of micro transactions. The enemy units also seem to have better pathing and your units stack up to get destroyed. Otherwise, the gameplay is not terrible. It is a total waste of time though.

Pretty predictable game. Each evolution presents identical challenges: increase food production to increase the speed at which you can produce fighting units. Rinse and repeat. There isn't a lot of depth, and while it's true that you won't be forced to watch any ads, if you choose not to, the game is horribly slow-going. You will lose a LOT of rounds (by design.) Very decent game if you like a lot of grinding. No skill required; just build more units than the AI can destroy and you win.

"Watch ads to win" definitely rings true to this game. I'd prefer an option to pay to turn them off entirely but it's not an option. This is a very basic battler that is so basic it plays like an idle game or "upgrade" game. You play the same levels over and over with minor variations of each, while collecting upgrades to battle the increasingly difficult waves. I find it relaxing because it is so utterly brain dead.
