It's 2025, and your web interface still has no OPP? No classes? No instances? No runtime component duplication AT ALL? I still gave this 4 stars because it's still pretty useful for making all kinds of apps, but having to define a finite number of components up front makes game development a bit of a pain. It's doable, but not as efficient as it could be. And yes, I already know about extensions, but this seems like something that should be a standard feature.

Cool tool. Built my first custom app in less than 24 hrs from the time I found this tool to publishing my apk. I have never built an app before and between the puzzle pieces and hundreds of tutorials at the site and on youtube I had version 1 (the input data and calculation and output data) running in <24 hrs. Adding more advanced features like email and file attachment took a little longer. I've heard there's an iOS version too. can't wait to try that too and get my iOS users up and running!

EDIT: Yes, I know it's just a companion. When I connect it to ai2 on my computer, it will randomly disconnect and crash everytime I change screens on either device. Original: I have no idea how a top college like MIT screwed this up so bad, but the app keeps crashing for no reason. Also, you can 1) paste colored/bold text into the code for some reason, 2) entering a link into the box or scanning an external QR code will send you to the website entered. TLDR: It crashes and is buggy.

The App doesn't work stand alone. It is a tool which is part of the MIT App Inventor app authorizing platform. You create your apps at http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu and then preview them with the Companion app. The web application generates the barcode, which is scanned by the Companion.
