About this app

Y!mobile Mail is the official Y!mobile email app.

You can manage multiple email accounts at once, including Y!mobile email address (@yahoo.ne.jp), MMS/SMS/+Message (*1), Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, etc. (*2), depending on the purpose. This is the definitive email app that has two display formats that you can choose from.

[Conversational]
It is a chat-like format that allows you to easily exchange messages, and you can see the flow of previous interactions and conversations, so it is suitable for casual communication with family and friends.

Additionally, you can automatically sort emails from addresses other than those registered in your phone book, so you won't miss any important emails.

[List type]
This display format is similar to that of a regular mailer, and allows you to check the emails that have arrived in your inbox or personal folders in chronological order. The filtering function also supports automatic folder sorting.

Additionally, you can switch to conversational mode with a single tap from the email details screen, so you can immediately check the conversation up to that point.

Ratings and reviews

1) absolutely horrible, bloated and outdated design. Looks like from late 1990s, wasting screen space. 2) difficult to use. 3) weird DNS requests to various yahoo servers that I had to block on my firewall and reported for Pi-hole lists. Telemetry or logs? 4) no fingerprint support. 5) Backups were difficult to turn off and delete afterwards.

The app looks nice and does seem to work. It's just too bad they are like most Japanese companies that have trouble making their products more accessible to foreigners. It's weird because Softbank their parent company offeres their text/email app in other languages.

In darkmode setting, font And back ground color become white and could not see word at all. +Massage list sorts old is top and latest bottom, could not change to opposite way, all others are opposit way, confused.
